Who We Are

We are a quality driven team of geospatial surveyors. Drawing upon a wealth of knowledge acquired from diverse backgrounds rooted in both small and large scale projects.

Using our innovative laser scanning technology to measure, plan and visualise both as-built and natural environments, we can help improve communications and efficiency in design and construction regardless of project size. Our drive to surpass expectations means we are always willing to explore new possibilities and push the boundaries to deliver the value we know this technology offers.

JAMES JOBLING PURSER

Managing Director

James created his first business in remote surveying in 2007 and soon after developed 3DMSI to offer a more comprehensive range of 3D surveying services. James has applied his skills to lead the field in modelling 3D survey information and successfully manage projects for multiple stakeholders in a number of industry sectors. His strong research background has enabled James to take a pioneering approach to problem solving through intelligent use of 3D geospatial data. He has experience in major projects in the UK, South Africa, Tanzania, Mexico, USA and Qatar.

Surveying and Geospatial Engineer

Max joined 3DMSI full time in 2020 after subcontracting for the year beforehand. Max is a qualified Surveying and Geospatial Engineer with a qualification in special science from Western Australia. Max has extensive experience working on high precision dimensional control and laser scanning projects across multiple sectors across the world.

OUR EQUIPMENT

At 3DMSI we use the most effective hardware and software to suit the particular project. This includes both Leica and Z+F Laser Scanners, an Optech C-ALS Scanner, GPS and total stations.

LEICA RTC360

LASER SCANNER

We use the Leica RTC 360 where speed is of the essence. This is a fantastic piece of kit for domestic and smaller marine projects, with its automated field registration and lightweight design. Whilst measuring up to 2 million points per second which is more than enough for the projects mentioned above, we would rely on our Z+F5010C for scanning where entailing longer ranges where higher detail is required.

OUR SOFTWARE

3DMSI has invested heavily into what we believe is the best software available for geospatial uses. Our experience on the receiving end of the data enables us to advise and  tailor the data collection process to deliver the final outputs to meet our clients' specific software requirements.
